Service

Girl Guides encourages its members to help other people in the community.  Part of our promise is to “serve my community and Australia”.

Service opportunities can be small and done by an individual guide – helping at home, school, or with another community group or in the Guide unit  – or big and done on a state or national level for example the Breast care bags service project or being part of ANZAC Day ceremonies.

By giving service, girls develop personal skills such as resilience and problem solving, practical skills such as first aid, leadership skills such as cooperation and organisation and gain an awareness of their community.
