Leadership skills development begins with the youngest guides. Even at a young age, guides are supported to work as a team, make decisions on activities and contribute to the Unit’s program of activities.
As they get older girls will share leadership in the Unit, maybe by running a game or activity or taking on the role of Patrol Leader – the girl leader of a small group of guides.
Senior Guides run their own program, taking on major leadership positions under the guidance of an adult leader. Girls have opportunities to attend formal leadership trainings and to gain awards in leadership skills and development
